| The soft sway of grass skirts and graceful hands beckon to you,
as the blowing of conch shells signals the opening of our Tropical
Dance Show. Lively Tahitian drummers and dancers greet
you with a welcome dance followed by a slow, dreamy Hawaiian
hula performed by the wahines (women), then it's time for
the kanes (men) to display their skill in a faster, up-tempo hula
from the islands. Both men and women then join together in a colorful
display of timing and dexterity performing with traditional Hawaiian
hula implements, the puili (split bamboo), uli uli (feathered gourd)
and ipo (dried gourd). Conjuring up images of fire goddesses and
erupting volcanoes, men and women Tahitian dancers take center stage
dancing to tribal village beats with colorful tropical costumes.
The dancers are accompanied by a live band.
The climax of our show arrives with our Samoan
Fire Knife Dancer performing flaming acrobatics with a
fiery double bladed knife - a thrill to see. Alas, it is time to
return home, with hearts and hands our Hula Ohana Dancers
will bid you "Aloha Oie - till we meet again."
