Leader - Joann Powers - formerly from Detroit Michigan - was brought up in the home of Motown and sweet soul music. Starting her singing career at a very early age, she knew she wanted to be an entertainer. Lead vocalist for several well known bands (Kamage, Take Five, and Starlight), in the Detroit area and surrounding suburbs. Moved to Arizona in 1985, worked with a couple of local bands then decided to take a short hiatus from the music scene - in 2001 started her own band and has been working ever since with some of the best cats in town. Gigs at Sugar Daddy's, El Dorados, Dillon's, Lake Pleasant, String Chemistry Cafe, Shenanigans and scouting out other popular clubs in 2006.

The J Powers Band mixes Blues, R&B, Soul, Motown and Classic Rock with great vocal harmonies, entertaining melodies and high energy.

• Pete Mello - a seasoned guitarist who has had his own AZ based Blues-Rock trio - Double Scoop. Catch his tasteful solos and mellow blues renditions.
• Michael Black - the bassist, who is the funkiest bass player this side of the Mississippi, pops, thumps and jumps - fun to watch as well.
• Rob Thompson - the beat keeper, the funkmaster, a jewel of a drummer & percussionist.
• Tom Powers - keyboard extraordinaire, vocalist, songwriter and an all around phenomenal musician. He led the Tom Powers Group back in Michigan. Tom has recorded with Arista records and Big Tree Records.
